I will make Jamaican national football team – Usain Bolt

Jamaican sprinter, Usain Bolt has said that he is serious about starting up a soccer career now he has retired from sprinting.

He also said he could even be good enough to play for Jamaica.

Bolt, eight-time Olympic gold medalist, is currently recovering from a hamstring injury.
He accepted there might be some skepticism, but said it had always been his boyhood dream.
He told reporters at the U.S Formula One Grand Prix, “For me it’s a personal goal. I don’t care what people really think about it. I‘m not going to lie to myself.

“I‘m not going to be stupid. I‘m not trying to embarrass myself.
“But if I go out there and feel I can do this then I will give it a try. It’s a dream and another chapter of my life.
“If you have a dream that you always wanted to do, why not try and see where it will go.
“It’s just my hamstring keeping me back right now. In two weeks I can start training again and get back into some shape.
“Then I can really explore the situation.
“They say the invitation is always open, so it’s all about me getting over my injury and then getting into shape.
“Then I can do the trials and see what level I‘m at.”
A keen Manchester United fan, Bolt doubted manager Jose Mourinho would be on the phone any time soon, but said he had spoken to the club’s former manager, Alex Ferguson about his dream.
“He said ‘Alright, get into shape and I’ll see where that goes’,” said the sprinter.
Jamaica, who failed to qualify for next year’s World Cup finals, are currently 59th in the world rankings, leaving Bolt to also muse, “I think I can make the Jamaica team easily. I wouldn’t say they are that good at this point.”

Ibrahimovic’s surgeon warns over Manchester United return

Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s surgeon, Dr. Freddie Fu, has issued a warning over the striker’s return to action for Manchester United, insisting the Swede must only return when he is fully fit.
Ibrahimovic tore his anterior crutiate ligament against Anderlecht in April, after netting 28 goals for the Red Devils in his debut season.
After being initially released by by the club following the expiration of his contract, the 35-year-old has penned a new one-year deal and is stepping up his comeback.
Amid rumours that he could make his return to training by the end of October, Fu believes his former patient needs as much time as possible.
“I have no worry about his injury as it always takes time to fully recover,” he told the South China Morning Post .
“In fact the EPL has just started and I am sure Manchester United would not need the player urgently for any crucial game either in the league or European competitions.
“He is very strong but soccer is still a combative sport. As a doctor, of course I want to see him return as slow as possible, only when he is fully fit for the game. There have been many cases of a player returning prematurely with bad consequences.”

“He is the kind of player who has good availability, helps you a lot to get out of pressure and creates spaces.
“But what you want from him is final balls and goals as well.”
The victory over Brighton was The Gunners fourth straight clean sheet in the league this season.

Okocha more skillful than Pele – George Weah

Football legend George Oppong Weah says Nigeria’s Jay Jay Okocha is more skillful than Ghana’s Abedi.
According to the Liberian, even him, having won the world’s best player during his playing days, is nowhere close to Okocha in terms of being adroit with the leather ball.
“Abedi is a strong player, he’s a creative player but Jay Jay is more skillful.
“Even me, Jay Jay has more techniques than me. All the things that Jay Jay does on the field, we don’t even do one percent of it.
“For me I don’t do tricks, I will score a good goal and when I am squeezed up, I know how to run around.
“But to put the ball around and play with it, I give it to Jay Jay; he is an entertainer.
“So Jay Jay is a legend when it comes to that; he is very creative, he is very smart and he knows how to do tricks,” Oppong Weah told Starr Chat.

Okocha voted Bolton’s best player of last 20 years

Former Super Eagles captain, Austin Jay Jay Okocha, has been voted by Bolton Wanderers fans, as the best player to have ever played at the Reebok Stadium, which has been renamed Macron Stadium.

It is in celebration of the ground’s 20th anniversary that the poll was organised.
Okocha beat the likes of former Spain defender, Ivan Campo and French forward, Youri Djorkaeff to emerge winner.
“So good they named him twice, Jay-Jay Okocha’s impact on Bolton Wanderers Football Club has truly never been forgotten,” Bolton wrote on their website while announcing the results.

“Moving to England for the first time with the Whites in 2002, the Nigerian magician’s four seasons spent with Sam Allardyce’s men saw him capture the hearts of not only the Bolton faithful, but football fans across the country for his silky skills and cheeky smile. Figuring for the Trotters on 145 occasions, he played in the Carling Cup Final – where he scored two unforgettable free-kicks in the semi-final first leg – and and also in the UEFA Cup.
“Another captain of the club too, those who were lucky enough to watch him in his prime will never forget the impact that Okocha had during his time at Macron Stadium and with that in mind, he has officially been named as the best ever player to grace our current home.”

Mourinho to appear in court before Manchester United’s trip to Chelsea

Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho, has been summoned to appear in a Madrid court on November 3, two days before he takes his team to his old club, Chelsea, in the Premier League.

Conte blasts Premier League over Manchester City fixture

Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte, has criticised the Premier League, for scheduling their clash with Manchester City on Saturday.
After spending Thursday recovering following their stunning 2-1 win at Atletico Madrid, it leaves Chelsea just one day to prepare.
City played Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday at the Etihad, giving them a 24-hour headstart over the Blues.
“Don’t forget, Manchester City played (on Tuesday) at home,” said Conte.
“To have only one day to prepare for this type of game is not right. I’m very surprised to see that we have to play on Saturday, not on Sunday. I don’t understand why.”
Conte says the international break which follows the City game, means it was less necessary for the game to be played on Saturday.
“There is the international break. It’s very difficult to understand,” Conte added.
The Italian insisted Chelsea would be ready, but he may delay selecting his team until Saturday afternoon.
“Maybe I’ll wait until one hour, two hours before playing.
“This type of game (against Atletico) you use a lot of physical and mental energy. I want to speak with everyone and then to make the best decision.
“(But) to play a big game is better because we can keep the concentration very high,” he added.

He denied the charges but could face a bill, including fines of more than €40million or even time in prison if he is found guilty.
Perez has already dismissed the idea of Madrid’s record goal scorer receiving a pay increase, to help him deal with the situation.
When asked if he expected to extend his deal, Ronaldo speaking after his brace against Borussia Dortmund, said: “That is a good question.
“I am happy, things happen in a natural way. That is a better question maybe for the president – he would know better than me how to answer.”
